Highwood is developing an Emissions Intelligence Platform (EIP) to address the intricate challenges faced by the Oil and Gas (O&G) industry in reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG’s) because of difficulty in managing and manipulating methane emissions data. Traditional approaches to tracking methane data, termed “bottom-up calculations,” rely on equipment counts and standard emission factors, leading to significant underestimation. In contrast, Highwood’s EIP leverages novel measurement technologies, or “top-down technologies,” to provide a more accurate estimate of emissions, bridging the ingenuity gap. The EIP comprises three pivotal components: a dynamic Data Template, a Reconciliation Engine employing innovative algorithms, and prospective Analytics Solutions. These solutions aim to enhance the quality, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of emissions data for O&G companies, revolutionizing their approach to measurement-informed inventories.
