CCEMC to announce $35 million international Grand Challenge to identify innovative uses for carbon emissions

Alberta’s first Grand Challenge seeks to move carbon from liability to asset

EDMONTON — The Climate Change and Emissions Management (CCEMC) Corporation will be hosting a media conference to announce a Grand Challenge that will identify innovative uses for carbon emissions. The international open innovation competition will award up to $35 million in grants through three rounds of funding over five years, and is anticipated to produce multiple technologies that will provide significant net reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

This is the first international Grand Challenge launched in Alberta, Canada.
